The "typical" WordPress website is made up of software from many different developers. Those developers don’t work together; they release updates on different schedules; and they definitely aren’t checking that their update is compatible with your setup.

Without a webmaster, it’s up to you to keep the whole thing up to date. That might not seem like a big deal today. Today, your site is working. The WordPress core, the theme and the plugins are in harmony. So why retain someone to look after what ain’t broke?

Why do i need a website care plan?

Our Website Care Plans save you time administering one of your business’ most valuable asset. They are designed to provide the peace of mind that comes with knowing your website is in safe hands, running smoothly and protected.

Depending on the plan chosen, our plans not only help you maintain your website, but provide you with the tools and knowledge to help you grow your business online.

What type of content can I purchase with blocks of time?

As a Care Plan client, you can purchase blocks of time as needed.

They are designed to help take care of adhoc website updates on your behalf and can include adding new pages, updating copy, adding blog posts, adding images, adding a contact form, design improvements, or pretty much anything else that can be handled within the time purchased.

We'll make sure your content updates conform to SEO best practice, that any links are applied correctly, we also keep an eye on layout issues (particularly across different browser sizes), and we provide an extra pair of eyes to avoid embarrassing content errors.

For larger project updates we can quote on a case-by-case basis.

Do my purchased blocks of time rollover?

Yes, purchased time can roll over and be used as required over a 6 month period.

We'll keep track of your time spent, and provide you a monthly summary of what's been used, and what's remaining.

What happens if my website goes down, or is hacked?

The purpose of our website care plans is preventative care, so the processes in place (including security scanning, uptime monitoring and performance scans), will help prevent anything from happening.

However in the event of an issue we will be able to catch problems quickly and will be on hand to help resolve the issue (including working with your web host on your behalf).

We cannot promise your website will not be hacked (no website is 100% hack-proof) but we can promise you we will do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as assist in the restoration and cleanup of your website with one of our regular backups.

What happens after i sign up?

You’ll receive an email with your order receipt. If we didn’t create your website, you’ll also receive a form to securely provide your website access information (including your Website Admin and Hosting Access details) so we can begin auditing your site(s) as part of the on-boarding process.

Once on-boarding is complete, you’ll receive a welcome email with more details about your account, and instructions for sending task requests.

You can then sit back with the peace of mind that your website is being cared for and you've a go-to resource for website updates and progressive enhancement!

Why is there a setup Fee?

The Care Plan setup fee allows us to on-board your website to our system, perform an initial security check, as well as undertake an initial update of your WordPress Core files and Plugins.

The outcome of this process will either be a clean website with up to date files and plugins, or where issues arise from this process a quote will provided to bring your website up to date with the latest software and plugin files so that your WordPress website is clean, working and up to date when you begin a Care Plan.

My website is not WordPress, can you still support my site?

We're skilled in WordPress, and focus our efforts on ensuring we can support WordPress built business websites. At this time our Care Plans are only aimed at WordPress sites.

Can i use purchased time for a website i'm currently building?

Our website care plans are designed for live websites only. If you require help with the development of a website we’d be very happy to discuss your needs. If you need help please send us a message using our getting started with a website project form, or email

How do i send support requests?

The quickest way to get support is to email with your support request, and the website you need help with.

We'll then confirm receipt of your support request and reply with any questions (if applicable) and advise you when the task has been completed.

What are your business hours and response time?

Our business hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm (AEST). We strive to complete all tasks within a 24hr period during week days, but it usually happens much faster. On weekends we strive to complete tasks by the following weekday (so if you send a request on a Friday, or over the weekend, it'll be completed for the following Monday).

What happens if i cancel my website care plan?

We’ll be sad to see you go!

But we’ll also provide any information you need to transition smoothly to another developer. If you’re using tools or themes that are licensed by Kicking Pixels, you’ll need to purchase your own license(s) in order to keep the software up-to-date.

We’ll also transfer billing for hosting and email automation services back to you (if and where applicable).

Purchased hours can still be used, but any remaining time will be re-calculated based on our regular hourly rate.

What's included within the monthly care report?

Our Monthly Care Plan reports will provide you with details on the updates that have occurred during the month (WordPress Core, Plugins and Themes), your website uptime, backups, website security and page speed / performance, and website traffic analytics (if Google Analytics is setup).
